Shayla Addison, 28, of Indianapolis, has agreed to plead guilty to two federal charges for threatening U.S. Representative Nancy Mace in January 2025, including sending violent text messages and posting threats on social media.
Authorities say she targeted Mace with messages like “Come outside, b**** we’ll kill you” and threats of a bomb at her office.
The FBI and U.S. Capitol Police investigated, and Mace confirmed the threats were credible and involved potential violence.
Addison faces up to 20 years in prison.
Mace said the threats, part of a pattern since 2021, stem from political extremism and her identity as a conservative woman, but she remains undeterred.
