flag A new year-round public washroom opens this summer in Forest’s Rotary Park, funded by a $122,900 grant.

A new four-season public washroom is set to open this summer in Rotary Park, Forest, thanks to a $122,900 Ontario Trillium Foundation grant covering about half the cost. Part of a downtown revitalization effort, the facility will be near a splash pad and connected to a newly developed parkette on King Street West. The project, driven by community stakeholders, aims to address the lack of public washrooms, with the Forest library currently being the only option. The washroom will resemble one at Coultis Park but will be designed for year-round use. Phase one of the parkette, including walkways, a plaza, and electrical service, is nearing completion, with sodding and a sprinkler system to follow. Future additions may include benches, landscaping, and space for events.
