Milo’s Italian Deli temporarily moved to The Railyard due to staffing issues, with a mid-February return planned.
Milo’s Italian Deli in Gloversville has temporarily moved to adjacent bar The Railyard due to staffing shortages, with plans to reopen at its original West 8th Ave. location by mid-February.
Owner Mike Salvione, a longtime resident and food industry veteran, said the shift allows continued service of the deli’s signature sandwiches, soups, salads, and dinner dishes like chicken parmesan and lasagna, now prepared and served at The Railyard, which has a liquor license.
Manager Justine Boilard and her husband Noe have transitioned to roles at the bar.
Salvione cited stable business growth and quality concerns, not revenue, as the reason for the move, attributing his culinary passion to Italian heritage and a personal health journey that reduced his weight from over 300 to 230 pounds.
The deli remains closed but is expected to return to its original site.
