The New York Mets acquired outfielder Luis Robert Jr. from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for infielder Luisangel Acuna and pitching prospect Truman Pauley. Robert, 28, a former All-Star and Gold Glove winner, possesses speed and power but has struggled with injuries and consistency, batting.223 with 14 home runs and 33 steals in 110 games last season. The Mets, who were unable to acquire Kyle Tucker, are adding depth to their outfield after trading Brandon Nimmo. The contract includes Robert's $20 million salary in 2026 and a $20 million club option in 2027 with a $2 million buyout. The White Sox, rebuilding after a 60-102 season, added young infield and pitching talent.
