India to build 50 new airports in five years, aiming for 350 by 2047.

India plans to expand its airport network to 350 by 2047, with 50 new airports to be built in the next five years, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu announced at the 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos. The country has grown from 74 airports in 2014 to 164 today, now ranking as the world’s third-largest domestic aviation market with annual growth of 10–12% and nearly 1,700 aircraft orders. State governments are seeking global investment for infrastructure and technology.
