Boca Raton nursing homes face higher penalties and safety risks than Florida average, despite affluent reputation.
A 2025 analysis by Hollander Law Firm using federal health data reveals that nursing homes in Boca Raton, Florida, face higher rates of federal penalties and life-threatening safety violations than the state average, despite the city’s affluent reputation.
Facilities were fined over $1.42 million in one year—42% more per facility than Florida’s average—and had a 6.4% rate of 'Immediate Jeopardy' citations, nearly triple the state’s 2.3%.
Abuse and neglect citations rose 14%, and nearly 40% of homes repeated the same violations within two years.
The findings challenge the assumption that upscale locations ensure better care, pointing to systemic issues like understaffing and lack of accountability.
The firm urges families to seek legal help promptly to preserve evidence and ensure accountability, regardless of a facility’s location or cost.
