Thomas Casey, a 34-year-old father of three from Basildon, died at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford on January 18, 2026, after waiting over an hour in the A&E department for treatment while experiencing severe chest pain. His son said his father was given only paracetamol, ignored despite showing signs of a serious cardiovascular event, and died on the floor after turning blue and frothing at the mouth. Witnesses reported staff dismissed his symptoms and performed CPR in full view of other patients.
