Uttarakhand’s new digital marriage system has processed over 474,000 marriages since implementation, up from 67 under the old system.
One year after implementing its Uniform Civil Code, Uttarakhand has registered over 474,000 marriages online, averaging nearly 1,400 per day—up from 67 under the old system.
The fully digital process allows couples and witnesses to apply remotely, upload documents, and submit video statements without in-person visits.
Marriage certificates are now issued in about five days, within the 15-day limit.
The state has also processed 316 divorce certificates, 68 live-in relationship registrations, and two terminations.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami praised the reform for improving transparency, efficiency, and civil rights, calling it a model for other states.
