Two skiers were rescued after getting lost in harsh winter conditions on Mount Moosilauke.
Two Massachusetts skiers, Romain Tronchi, 30, and Gabriel Mahe, 32, were rescued on Mount Moosilauke in New Hampshire after becoming lost in severe winter conditions.
They were trapped in waist-deep snow with only 2% battery on their phones and no proper gear.
A search and rescue team traveled four miles by snowmobile and 1.5 miles on foot through deep snow and dense trees to reach them.
The men were found at 11 p.m. and safely returned to the trailhead by 2 a.m. Sunday, with no injuries.
The incident underscores the dangers of backcountry travel without proper preparation.
