Toyota will launch its first electric vehicle in India, the Urban Cruiser EV, on January 20, 2026, based on the Maruti e-Vitara but with a distinct front design featuring a bold grille, LED lighting, and black trim. It offers a 4,285mm length, 2,700mm wheelbase, and a 5.2-meter turning radius. Powertrain options include 49kWh and 61kWh batteries with front-wheel drive, delivering 144–174hp and up to 550km of range, plus an all-wheel-drive variant with 184hp. Features include a dual-screen cockpit, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, ADAS, 360-degree camera, and seven airbags. Priced between Rs 19 lakh and Rs 25 lakh, it will compete with the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, and others.
