A suspect is being sought by Portland police for allegedly shooting two officers on January 20, 2026, in the Sullivan's Gulch neighborhood close to Lloyd Center. The suspect, a Caucasian man with facial hair in his mid-30s, was last seen with a black backpack and green shopping bag in addition to a black jacket, gray hoodie, black pants, black shoes, and a black cap. Authorities advise the public not to approach him because they claim he is carrying a knife and a handgun. The manhunt involves more than 60 law enforcement units, a secured perimeter, and orders for residents to remain in their homes. Both officers are still in the hospital and are said to be in stable condition. Police are looking for witnesses, examining video footage, and asking anyone with information to dial 911. The inquiry is still in progress.
