KTMB offers free Komuter rides Jan. 31–Feb. 2, 2026, with 24-hour service and increased trains for Thaipusam, plus new education reforms.
KTMB will offer free Komuter rides on January 31 and February 1, 2026, during the Thaipusam festival, with 24-hour service from January 30 to February 2.
The Klang Valley Komuter will run 609 trips—23% more than last year—featuring increased trains to Batu Caves, now 304 daily trips every 30 minutes.
Twenty-eight stations will operate around the clock, and all transactions will be cashless.
The government aims to ease congestion by encouraging transfers at nine major interchange stations and has deployed enhanced medical and emergency services at Batu Caves.
Thaipusam and February 2 are public holidays, and the government also announced education reforms, including free higher education for students with special needs and curriculum changes starting in 2026.
