A head-on crash on I-71 northbound in Warren County, Ohio, on January 19, 2026, killed two people: Micaela Pedicone, 28, a Lebanon teacher, and Darnell McKinney Jr., 49, of Cincinnati.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported Pedicone’s southbound 2017 Chevrolet Malibu crossed the median, colliding with McKinney’s northbound 2002 Honda Odyssey.
Both died at the scene.
The interstate was closed for nearly two hours but has since reopened.
The school district closed South Lebanon Elementary on January 20 for student and staff support.
The investigation into the crash’s cause is ongoing.
