A free bus service linking Western Sydney International Airport to St Marys train station began in January 2026, providing interim transit ahead of the Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport line’s 2027 opening.
The buses run every 30 minutes, connecting the airport to the regional rail network until the metro begins operations.
The metro, with six stations and 70% of track laid, will eventually carry up to 7,740 passengers per hour.
Permanent bus routes to Penrith, Leppington, Liverpool, Campbelltown, and Mount Druitt will continue.
The airport is still on track to open in late 2026, supported by the toll-free M12 motorway.
