Datawave Networks, backed by Cerberus, is building the SING subsea cable to link Singapore, India, and the Gulf, targeting 2030 completion.
Datawave Networks, a Cyprus-based subsea infrastructure provider, has secured a binding investment and financing deal with Cerberus Capital Management to develop the Singapore–India–Gulf (SING) subsea cable system, targeting completion by 2030.
Cerberus will gain a majority stake in Datawave and fund construction, supporting the project’s rollout.
The cable will connect Muscat, Oman; Kalba, UAE; Mumbai and Chennai, India; Kedah, Malaysia; and Singapore, featuring 16 fiber pairs capable of 18 terabits per second each.
Designed to meet rising demand from AI, cloud computing, and data centers, the system aims to enhance regional connectivity and route diversity.
Datawave has also signed a deployment agreement with a major U.S. subsea cable supplier, with all landing arrangements finalized and anchor customer commitments secured.
