Changi Airport launches driverless baggage tractors, with more to follow in 2026 and 2027.
Changi Airport in Singapore has launched its first two fully driverless tractors for baggage transport between Terminals 1 and 4, following nearly a year of testing. Equipped with over 10 sensors and cameras, the vehicles operate autonomously in all conditions and are monitored remotely. Six more tractors are planned for deployment later in 2026, with a full fleet of 24 expected by 2027. The move is part of a broader automation effort to improve efficiency and safety, allowing ground staff to transition into higher-skilled roles, supported by training and collaboration with industry partners.
