Uttarakhand CM Dhami hailed India's cultural revival under Modi, calling it the nation's "Amrit Kaal" during a centenary ceremony in Haridwar attended by 40,000.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said India is experiencing a cultural renaissance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, calling it the nation’s “Amrit Kaal” of renewal during the Dhwaj Vandan Ceremony in Haridwar on January 18, 2026.
The event, marking the centenary of spiritual figure Mata Bhagwati Devi Sharma and the Akhand Deep, drew over 40,000 attendees from India and abroad.
Dhami emphasized a shift from a historical “slave mindset” to renewed pride in heritage, highlighting India’s potential to become a global spiritual leader.
He praised efforts to preserve cultural identity, including the Uniform Civil Code, anti-riot laws, and removal of illegal encroachments.
The ceremony, hosted by Dev Sanskriti University, also underscored the “Vocal for Local” initiative through the Uttarayani Kauthig festival in Lucknow, celebrating shared traditions and rural livelihoods.
