Which? has ranked UK energy suppliers, with Scottish Power, EDF, and British Gas scoring below 60% and earning two stars for poor customer service, particularly in complaint handling and support availability. E (Gas and Electricity) topped the list with a 79% satisfaction score and four stars, praised for clear billing and easy contact, followed by Octopus Energy, 100Green, and Sainsbury’s Energy. The survey, based on nearly 12,000 customer responses from September and October, found fixed tariffs now offer better value than the energy price cap. Which? urged dissatisfied customers to switch providers. In response, British Gas cited a 20% drop in complaints and improved service, EDF highlighted strong Trustpilot ratings, and Scottish Power referenced the Citizens Advice scorecard as a more reliable benchmark.
