Ubisoft veteran Marc-Alexis Côté sues for $935K after being pushed out of Assassin’s Creed role.
Marc-Alexis Côté, a 20-year Ubisoft veteran and former executive producer of Assassin’s Creed, has sued the company in Quebec, seeking nearly $935,000 in damages after his departure in October 2025.
He claims he was constructively dismissed when Ubisoft restructured the franchise under Vantage Studios, a new France-based unit, and offered him a diminished role he declined.
Côté alleges he was not consulted for key leadership positions due to the role’s location, and that Ubisoft labeled his exit as a resignation despite his request for severance.
He seeks financial compensation, severance, and removal of a non-compete clause restricting his future work.
Ubisoft has not responded.
