A new 6,000-seat Sphere venue with a giant LED screen is planned for National Harbor, Maryland, following the Las Vegas model.
Sphere Entertainment, Maryland, Prince George’s County, and Peterson Companies plan to build a smaller Sphere venue at National Harbor, Maryland, the second U.S. location after Las Vegas.
The 6,000-seat venue will feature a massive exterior LED display and a 16Kx16K interior screen, the world’s highest-resolution, with immersive sound and 4D effects.
Expected to cost $200 million and create nearly 2,500 construction and 4,750 permanent jobs, the project aims to boost tourism, innovation, and the local economy with an estimated annual impact exceeding $1 billion.
