A Michigan man was arrested after threatening officers with a knife and damaging property at a Pennsylvania airport, causing flight delays.
Jeffrey W. Roeder, 46, of Michigan, was arrested after an early morning incident at State College Regional Airport on January 18, 2026, where he allegedly damaged property, brandished a knife, and threatened officers while reportedly under the influence of methamphetamine.
Police subdued him after a nearly four-hour standoff using a Taser and bean bag round, resulting in a laceration to an officer’s hand.
The airport was temporarily closed, causing delays for several flights, and reopened by 8:45 a.m. Roeder faces felony and misdemeanor charges including aggravated assault and criminal mischief, with damages exceeding $7,500.
He had not been arraigned as of Sunday afternoon.
