Lydia Forrester, 60, convicted of defrauding Rutland Haulage of £75,000 over 20 years using a fake account.
Lydia Forrester, 60, was found guilty of defrauding Rutland Haulage of £75,000 over two decades by funneling funds into a Halifax account under a fake name, Linda George, whom she claimed was a Ghanaian prostitute and former lover of the company’s late owner.
Prosecutors said the account was linked to her address, and no evidence of George’s existence was found.
Forrester, who worked sporadically due to health and caregiving issues, denied financial authority and claimed she followed instructions from the deceased owner.
The jury acquitted her on a separate fraud charge.
She faced questions over luxury holidays paid for with no clear source, and a prison sentence is expected in March.
