The Indian government’s Project Monitoring Group (PMG) is overseeing over 3,000 projects worth more than Rs 78 lakh crore, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on January 18, 2026.
Operating under Invest India in the Ministry of Commerce, the PMG resolves regulatory and coordination issues for large-scale infrastructure and other projects exceeding Rs 500 crore, achieving a 94% resolution rate.
It supports public, private, and public-private partnership initiatives through milestone-based monitoring and fast-tracked approvals, aiming to boost project execution and investor confidence.
The PMG plays a key role in advancing India’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 under the 'Reform, Perform, Transform' agenda.
