Two senior St. Ann Municipal Corporation officials were arrested at Sangster International Airport on January 17, 2026, while attempting to board a flight to New York.
They were found with 9.25 kilograms of cocaine hidden in their luggage, valued at around J$5.4 million, and a handbag containing U.S. currency.
A subsequent search of their homes uncovered a Glock 19 pistol, ammunition, and additional cocaine.
One suspect was hospitalized after ingesting over 70 cocaine pellets.
