A three-alarm fire broke out Sunday morning at a three-story apartment building in New Orleans’ Garden District, prompting a major response with 58 firefighters and 21 units dispatched.
The blaze, reported at 11:55 a.m. at 3028 Prytania Street, caused significant damage to the building, which housed 10 residents across eight units.
Two occupants, including the elderly building owner, were rescued from the third floor, one via window due to mobility issues, and treated for smoke inhalation before being released.
No injuries were reported among residents or firefighters, and no adjacent structures were damaged.
The cause remains under investigation, and several nearby streets remain closed to traffic.
