The Sarnia-Bluewater Rotary’s book sale raised funds for community projects, with puzzles selling out and books donated to charities.
The Rotary Club of Sarnia-Bluewaterland’s annual used book sale at DeGroot’s Nurseries, now in its second day, drew hundreds of visitors with an estimated 15,000 books on display at times, featuring affordable prices from $1 to $5 and a new popular addition—puzzles that sold out quickly.
Organizers aim to raise $40,000 for community grants, youth scholarships, and local projects like the Germain Park splash pad, with donations accepted through January 29.
The event supports literacy initiatives such as the Lambton library’s Beanstack challenge, and unsold books are donated to charities, little libraries, and used bookstores.
Eight volunteers helped run the sale, which continues through January 31.
