Philippine authorities seized drugs and dismantled a major marijuana farm in January 2026.
On January 16, 2026, Philippine authorities intercepted a parcel at NAIA containing 320 grams of dried marijuana and eight cannabis vape cartridges, valued at around ₱480,400, disguised as accessories and candies.
The seizure, made by the Bureau of Customs in coordination with the PDEA and NAIA-IADITG, highlights intensified border security efforts under President Marcos Jr.’s anti-drug campaign.
The items and claimant were turned over to PDEA for legal action.
Separately, a large marijuana plantation in Ilocos Sur was dismantled, yielding over 156,000 mature plants and nearly 100 kilos of dried leaves, valued at ₱46.8 million, with all materials destroyed on-site.
