A new national program launched in Jan 2026 connects brain tumor patients with clinical trials, aiming to improve access following Natalie’s 2021 death.
A new national initiative, Access to Clinical Trials for Brain Tumours (ACT-BT), launched in January 2026, aims to improve patient access to clinical trials after the 2021 death of 31-year-old Natalie from Warwickshire, who battled a brain tumour diagnosed in 2017.
Her mother, Liz Paul, helped develop the system, co-created by The Brain Tumour Charity and the University of Leeds, to connect patients with suitable trials through a national panel of experts.
The effort addresses barriers like low awareness and geographic disparities, with the goal of expanding participation in life-extending research.
