CBI summons TVK leader Vijay for second time over 2025 Karur stampede that killed 41.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has summoned Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leader Vijay to Delhi for a second time to face questioning in connection with the September 27, 2025, Karur stampede that killed 41 people during a political rally. Vijay, who previously appeared on January 12 for a six-hour session, is expected to return for further questioning after the Pongal festival. The probe, led by retired Supreme Court judge Justice Ajay Rastogi, is examining event organization, crowd management, safety measures, and accountability. The CBI has already questioned several senior TVK officials and is reviewing depositions from party members, administration staff, and former police officials.
