Bangladesh disqualifies BNP’s Munshi over loans; upholds NCP’s Abdullah amid election review.
Bangladesh’s Election Commission disqualified BNP candidate Monzurul Ahsan Munshi from the Cumilla-4 seat, citing undisclosed loan information and default status, while upholding the candidacy of National Citizen Party’s Abul Hasnat Abdullah, whose appeal was accepted over Munshi’s financial disclosures.
The decision, made by Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin, follows a review of appeal petitions from 645 candidates, part of a broader scrutiny of 2,568 nomination papers ahead of the February 12 national election.
