An 8-year-old Navajo Nation girl, Maleeka “Mollie” Boone, was found dead in the Coalmine area of Arizona on January 16, 2026, less than 24 hours after she went missing.
She was last seen Thursday evening near Cedar Loop in the Coalmine Navajo Housing Authority area.
A Turquoise Alert was issued, prompting a large-scale search involving multiple law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, Navajo Nation Police, and Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The area remains under lockdown.
Authorities have not disclosed the cause of death but confirmed it is likely homicide, pending toxicology results.
