The U.S. government finished funding IperionX’s $47.1M titanium project, providing scrap metal and support to boost domestic, low-carbon production.
The U.S. Department of War has completed its $47.1 million funding commitment to IperionX, including the final $4.6 million, to scale titanium production to 1,400 metric tons annually at its Virginia facility.
The government also transferred 290 metric tons of high-quality titanium scrap (Ti64 alloy) at no cost, enough to supply the plant for about 1.5 years.
The scrap, from surplus government stockpiles, supports IperionX’s goal of building a domestic, low-carbon titanium supply chain for defense, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing.
The initiative aims to reduce reliance on foreign imports and strengthen U.S. industrial resilience.
