Severe December storms halted Alamos Gold’s Ontario mine for three days, slightly reducing its 2025 gold output.
Severe winter storms in late December disrupted Alamos Gold’s Island Gold mine in Ontario, halting underground operations for three days due to road closures that blocked essential deliveries, including compressed natural gas.
The mine produced 60,000 ounces in the fourth quarter, ending the year at 250,400 ounces—slightly below its 2025 target of 260,000 to 270,000 ounces, partly due to delays from a seismic event in October.
The Magino mill is expected to connect to the electric grid later in 2026, reducing reliance on natural gas.
The company plans to release its Island Gold Expansion Study in February, with fourth-quarter financial results to be discussed in an analyst call on February 19.
Alamos Gold’s stock closed at $54.14 on Friday, within a 52-week range of $27.51 to $60.86.
