Ontario funds $15M upgrade to Strathroy’s wastewater system to support growth and safety.
The Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc has received $15.02 million in provincial funding to upgrade its wastewater treatment infrastructure, primarily focusing on the Strathroy facility.
The investment, part of Ontario’s Municipal Housing and Infrastructure Program, aims to improve system reliability, support rapid population growth—projected to exceed 25,500 by 2027—and accommodate ongoing industrial and residential development.
Officials say the upgrades will reduce risks, enhance public health and safety, and help avoid future rate hikes.
Work is expected to begin in late 2026 or early 2027, though no completion date has been set.
