Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has announced a ₹35,000 crore investment to build a new auto plant in Khoraj, Gujarat, on 1,750 acres of land provided by the state. The facility, expected to produce 1 million vehicles annually, will create around 12,000 jobs and support India’s “Make in India, Make for the World” initiative. The project, formalized in a ceremony in Gandhinagar, aims to expand Maruti Suzuki’s manufacturing capacity to 4 million units per year, building on its record 2025 production of over 22.55 lakh vehicles. The company, India’s top automaker, cited strong domestic and export demand, with the Fronx, Baleno, Swift, Dzire, and Ertiga as its top-selling models.
