Former Ghanaian official Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu arrested in U.S. on fraud charges, facing extradition.
Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu, former CEO of Ghana’s MASLOC, was arrested on January 6, 2026, in the U.S. and is being held at the Nevada Southern Detention Center pending extradition to Ghana.
She was convicted in absentia in April 2024 on 78 counts, including embezzlement, money laundering, and fraud, over misappropriated funds from 2013 to 2016.
Ghana submitted an extradition request in July 2024, and U.S. authorities confirmed her detention based on that request.
She faces a court appearance on January 21, 2026.
Tamakloe-Attionu fled Ghana during medical travel in 2019.
Her co-accused, former COO Daniel Axim, received a five-year sentence.
