Five Grand Forks area organizations are displaying quilts from the National Cervical Cancer Coalition’s project to promote cervical cancer awareness during Cervical Cancer Awareness Month.
The quilts, many honoring women affected by cervical cancer or precancerous HPV, are on view at local health and community centers and include personal stories and screening information.
Grand Forks Public Health’s Women’s Way program, which offers free or low-cost Pap smears and HPV testing, emphasizes that regular screenings—starting at age 21 and every five years after 30—can prevent most cases.
