The suspect, identified as Alejandro Rosales Castillo, had evaded capture for nearly a decade.
The arrest, confirmed by FBI Director Kash Patel, resulted from a years-long investigation and reflects strong international cooperation between U.S. and Mexican law enforcement.
While details about the crime’s motive, arrest location, or extradition process were not released, the FBI emphasized the importance of global collaboration in bringing fugitives to justice.
