The BJP-Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) alliance won the largest bloc in Mumbai’s municipal elections with 118 seats, enabling it to appoint its own mayor. Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS won 65 seats combined, while Congress, AIMIM, and other parties secured smaller shares. The results intensified internal party conflict, with Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut accusing Deputy CM Eknath Shinde of betrayal, labeling him "Jaichand," and alleging electoral irregularities including EVM manipulation and misuse of a BJP app. Shinde’s allies rejected the claims, dismissing Raut’s credibility and emphasizing unity within the ruling alliance.
