Mari Hurley, RTÉ’s chief financial officer, is resigning after 18 months in the role, with her departure set for spring.
She stepped down to take a position outside the broadcaster following a period of financial turmoil, including scrutiny over payments to presenter Ryan Tubridy and a €3.6 million loss from a failed IT project.
During her tenure, Hurley helped strengthen governance and financial stability.
RTÉ’s director general, Kevin Bakhurst, praised her leadership, while Minister Patrick O’Donovan acknowledged her service and said he would engage with RTÉ leadership to ensure a smooth transition.
The broadcaster plans to begin recruiting for a new CFO soon.
