Nigerian artists Rema, Burna Boy, Shallipopi, and others won major awards at the 9th All Africa Music Awards in Lagos, January 7–11, 2026, with President Bola Tinubu praising their success as proof of Nigeria’s rising influence in Africa’s creative economy.
The event, hosted by Lagos State, drew over 1,200 attendees from 48 African nations and included a music summit and sold-out finale at the Eko Convention Centre.
Winners included Phyno, Qing Madi, Yemi Alade, Chella, and media figures Kenny Ogungbe and Dayo Adeneye.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s support for youth empowerment and the creative sector, highlighting its role in job creation and national development.
