Nigeria approves Amazon, Israel’s NSLComm, and Germany’s Satelio to launch satellite networks for improved broadband.
Nigeria’s telecom regulator has granted seven-year permits to Amazon’s Kuiper Systems, Israel’s NSLComm (BeetleSat), and Germany’s Satelio IoT Services, allowing them to deploy next-generation non-geostationary satellite networks.
The approvals, valid from February 2026 to February 2033, support Nigeria’s push to expand broadband access, attract investment, and modernize digital infrastructure.
Amazon plans a 3,236-satellite constellation, NSLComm a 264-satellite network, and Satelio a 491-satellite IoT system, though only one Satelio satellite is currently operational.
The move aligns Nigeria with global satellite communications standards.
