A new Star Wars trilogy is in development under Simon Kinberg, set for the 2030s, following Episode IX.

In her resignation as president of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy revealed that Simon Kinberg is working on a new Star Wars trilogy. Kinberg has finished a 70-page treatment and is expected to deliver a complete script by March. The trilogy, which is scheduled for release into the 2030s, will carry on the saga following Episode IX and is distinct from other projects like Star Wars: Starfighter and a Rey-centered movie. Kennedy signaled a new direction for the franchise by emphasizing a significant creative overhaul and strong internal support.
