A Lincoln daycare, Children’s Circle Montessori School, has reopened after a state investigation found no evidence of injury when a child was briefly left unsupervised in a cold garage as punishment.
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services initially suspended the center’s licenses in December 2025 over safety concerns but later rescinded the emergency order, citing no serious harm.
The center was placed on one year of probation, fined $125, and required to submit a plan to improve supervision and discipline practices.
Licenses will be reinstated on January 9, 2027, after probation ends.
Some parents expressed trust in the facility, while the school declined to comment.
