Maple Ridge councillor Ahmed Yousef charged with four sexual assault counts, faces Feb. 12 court date.
Maple Ridge, B.C., city councillor Ahmed Yousef has been charged with four counts of sexual assault involving at least two complainants, the BC Prosecution Service announced on January 15, 2026.
The charges, recommended by special prosecutor Claire Hatcher, stem from an RCMP investigation and include three counts against one complainant and one against another.
Yousef, first elected in 2018, stepped down in May 2025 and remains on paid leave.
His first court appearance is scheduled for February 12, 2026, in Port Coquitlam.
Publication bans are in place, and no further details have been released.
