On January 15, 2026, a 32-year-old man was arrested in a high-risk operation on the Carnarvon Highway near Mungindi, New South Wales, after a tip he was traveling from Queensland. He was wanted over a December domestic violence investigation in Orange involving a 33-year-old woman. Coordinated by New England police, the Western Region Domestic Violence High-Risk Offender Team, and highway patrol, he was charged with larceny, property damage, resisting police, assaulting an officer, driving with a suspended license, and four outstanding domestic violence warrants, including assault and stalking.
