Kia is developing a sub-€25,000 electric car for Europe, possibly launching before 2030.

Kia is exploring a small, affordable electric vehicle (EV1), possibly sized like the Picanto and priced under €25,000, to boost EV accessibility in Europe. The project, still under study, could launch before 2030 and may be offered alongside the current Picanto. While the EV2 SUV is set for release in Australia by late 2026, it’s unclear if the EV1 will be available outside Europe. If introduced in Australia, it would face competition from the BYD Atto 1 and upcoming MG4 Urban.
