IIT Indore unveiled the Charak DT Platform, an AI-powered digital twin that mimics human functions like breathing and blinking to enable early disease detection, initially focusing on the lungs.
The technology, developed under the Department of Science and Technology’s National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems, uses AI trained on physiological data to simulate disease progression and test treatments virtually.
Supported by AIIMS Bhopal, Delhi, and Raipur, the project has received clinical validation and has funded 89 startups.
Plans are underway to expand the model to other body systems, aiming to enhance preventive and personalized healthcare.
