Hindi writer Mamta Kalia and Manipuri author Arambam Ongbi Memchoubi won the 2025 Akashdeep Award for literary excellence.
The Amar Ujala Foundation has awarded its 2025 Akashdeep Award to Hindi writer Mamta Kalia and Manipuri author Arambam Ongbi Memchoubi, recognizing their literary contributions.
Each received a ₹5 lakh cash prize, a citation, and a Ganga sculpture.
The honor, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the UN’s International Women’s Year, highlights women’s voices in Indian literature.
Additional awards were given in poetry, fiction, non-fiction, translation, and debut author categories, each with a ₹1 lakh prize and sculpture.
The ceremony is set for later in 2026.
