Azerbaijan has established the Western Industrial Park in Ganja and Shamkir, with President Ilham Aliyev signing a decree to create the zone as a hub for competitive production and modern services. The Economic Zones Development Agency will oversee operations, backed by 500,000 manat ($294,000) from the President’s reserve fund for infrastructure. The Cabinet of Ministers must secure 81.8 hectares of industrial land and reclassify 100 hectares of agricultural land within three months, while the Ministry of Economy will define priority industries and assist in building utilities, transport, and social facilities. Implementation follows existing laws, including 2013 Decree No. 865, aiming to boost entrepreneurship and long-term economic growth.
